The Biathlon Federation of the Republic of Moldova (FBRM) is
the official leading biathlon forum in the Republic of Moldova.
It was established on May 12, 1993 (date of registration at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova: March 13, 1998).
It has been affiliated with the International Biathlon Union (IBU) since 1993.
History
The development of biathlon in the Republic of Moldova began
in 1992, when Valentin Ciumac and Petru Bria, with the support of the first president of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of the Republic of Moldova (then called the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Moldova) Efim Josanu, started
the formation of the team national in this kind of sport.


The national biathlon team of the Republic of Moldova was formed under the auspices of the Federation of Modern Pentathlon and Biathlon. Alexandr Odinokov - a coach from the Russian Federation became the head coach of the team (1992-1994). Athletes from the Voluntary Army, Air Force, and Fleet Assistance Society (formerly DOSAAF) were included in the team. The Biathlon Federation of the Republic of Moldova was established on May 12, 1993, as a non-governmental organization - the official leading forum of biathlon in the Republic of Moldova.
